Parque Colon
Parque Colon, also known as Colon Park, is a historical landmark with cultural significance. Parque Colon which was founded in the late 15th century. The square was developed as a central part of the city next to the most important buildings at the time. The square used to serve as ceremonies and processions acting as the heart of a growing colony. The square has gone through many changes, the most important being that Christopher Columbus was installed in the park in the late 19th century. Parque Colon is a living testament to the history and culture of the Dominican Republic. Still today, it can serve in festivals and events throughout the year. Parque Colon is known as a place where history is vibrant and alive. The park symbolizes the colonial past that has shaped the present day of the Dominican Republic’s culture and society. Parque Colon represents Christopher Columbus’ explorations and symbolizes the Dominican Republic’s strong culture and traditions.
